New Orleans drummer Freddie Kohlman was a living legend, having been the house drummer at Jazz Limited in Chicago where he played with everyone from Billie Holiday to Art Hodes. He made his first UK tour in November 1977 with the quintet on this record, recorded at the Dean St. Pizza Express.
